A man was shot in the shoulder and suffered head wounds in Tombstone in the early morning hours of Dec. 6. The man, 25-year-old Michael Frank Molina, said he knew who shot him but refused to cooperate with police in investigating the matter, according to Tombstone Marshal Billy Cloud. Earlier on Dec. 6, the Tombstone Marshal’s Office received a call of a possible break-in on Second Street, in which the homeowner said a man tried to illegally enter the home. Upon stopping the man from entering, the intruder assaulted the homeowner and left. The homeowner, assaulted previously in the night, is not suspected in the shooting and according to the Marshal’s office, police believe Molina went to that residence trying to locate a family member from the area. Molina was transported from the Circle K where his distress call came from to University Medical Center after members of the Tombstone Volunteer Fire Department and Health Care Innovations treated his injuries, according to the Marshal. Investigation in the matter is still ongoing as Molina is in stable condition but still heavily sedated at the hospital. |
